quite a long time since my last post. i was and still am very busy with moving my apartment exhibitions season in Tokyo work and a business trip to Paris.i usually dont have time for photos inParis this time i had a fun week and two days to walk around the city taking pic of everything that fit my lens , really love the natural lights of Fall over there. hope to post some more photo soon.last two weeks i did miss some grate activity's in Tokyo,well.... cant win them all.

OBON in Kyoto

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed (deceased) spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. Also called the Feast of Lanterns, it has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.(more here)

Day one just two stations from Sakiko's parents house is Hozukyo river there is actually a station at the best spot on the river beside cool river water blue sky and a track road going up the mountain there is nothing else at this station.just what we need to relax .

OBON day two

Day two out to "Omi" visiting Yamada's family old house deep in the northern Kyoto mountains.
vistaed here many times before it is always a journey back in time.really love it here.

The family at work cleaning and fixing around,, actually very simple just burn it all.
up in the mountains temperature drooped in 5~8 degrees a good chance for some good old in door BBQ and some cold beer.


chizu san's dog Koti, really like me!! didn't stop barking and shaking his tail the hole day cute but loud animal.
